Rossi Not Want Retirement Until MotoGP 2020


Valentino Rossi once again wants to show that age can not stop him from continuing his career in MotoGP. Yamaha rider was confirmed to continue to survive until the 2020 season.

Rossi's contract with Yamaha is certain to end in 2018 and many parties question his future in the world's fastest two-wheel racing event.

"We are still talking about it (contract renewal) but I think so," Rossi said in answering questions at the last preseason test session in Qatar as quoted by Crash.


Rossi's achievement in MotoGP has indeed declined in recent years. However, it caused injury outside the race that often experienced by Rossi.

The winner of seven MotoGP world titles has just signaled that he has not been exhausted. The reason, the 39-year rider was successfully reached the second position on the last day of pre-season tests in Qatar.

Rossi insists will soon announce his future to the public at the right time. So far he only focus on preparing ahead of the 2018 season.


"We will announce (new contract) when we are ready, however we are not delayed and on time, we have deadlines, I do not think that will be a big deal."

If Yamaha officially extend the Rossi contract for up to two years, then he will continue to be on the track racing until the age of 41 years.
