Beat Chelsea, Guardiola Confident Manchester City Champion

Pep Guardiola increasingly convinced Manchester City approached the Premier League champions after beating Chelsea 1-0 at Etihad on Sunday (4/3).

Berstatus as defending champion, Chelsea, opted to play defensively. While Citizens appear dominant although only able to score a single goal through Bernardo Silva in the second round.

"Against a strong team like Chelsea who are still a champion and defeating them the way we did today, it is very good," Guardiola told Sky Sports.

This victory confirmed City's position at the top of the standings by collecting 78 points from 29 matches. City winning 18 points from Liverpool who occupy the second position.

City practically need four wins from nine games remaining to ensure Premier League trophy this season.

"This win is very important and it is one step closer to the champions, we need only four wins to become champions."

"But, everything depends on us, if we continue to behave like this then we will be champions," continued the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach.

Four closest matches ManCity is facing Stoke City, Brighton, Everton, and rivals Manchester United. Practical only MU is likely to be the stumbling block City to the title.
