Federer Walks Into the Round of 16

Roger Federer is still on the right track to defend his title at Indian Wells. The world number one qualified for the last 16.

Federer beat Serbian Filip Krajinovic in the third round at Indian Wells Tennis Garden, Indian Wells, California, United States on Monday (12/3/2018) local time. The Swiss won easily over Krajinovic with a score of 6-2, 6-1.

In Indian Wells, Federer is hunting for his third title of the year after the Australian Open and Rotterdam Open. He is also eyeing his 98th title in his career as well as his 28th at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament.


"I played aggressively and felt he did not like my slice, and in the end I also combined it with a drop shot," Federer told ATP's official website.


"I think I am really able to combine my game well and make it difficult.At the same time, I am having fun with my game, playing variations, but I also try to keep attacking I think this is a good match, said the 36-year-old.

In the last 16, Federer will face Jeremy Chardy, who qualified after eliminating fellow Frenchman Adrian Mannarino 7-5, 4-6, 6-1.
