Barcelona Wins, Messi scored the fastest goal in his career

Lionel Messi scored a personal record as Barcelona beat Chelsea in the second leg of the Champions League last 16 at Camp Nou Stadium on Wednesday (14/3) evening local time.

Messi scored two goals against Chelsea as Barcelona won 3-0 in the second leg. One other Barcelona goal scored winger Ousmane Dembele who utilize the assist Messi.

Messi scored his first goal early in the first half. There are a number of parties who show different data. Sky Sports recorded Messi's first goal created when the game runs 127 seconds, while Opta scored a goal created during the first round running 128 seconds.

While in the replay of the match, the ball that kicked Messi for the first goal had crossed the Chelsea goal line when the game time showed 125 seconds.

Whichever data is used, Messi keeps a personal record. The first goal against Chelsea was the fastest goal Messi ever created throughout Argentina's professional striker's career.

Messi itself has collected 100 goals in the Champions League from 123 appearances. Messi became the second player, after Cristiano Ronaldo [117 goals], who were able to create 100 goals or more in the Champions League.

Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde says his team is very lucky to have Messi. Valverde considers Messi to score in any situation.

"Messi has got him in the team is a luxury.He is very decisive, he can score goals from any position and improve the game team in any situation," said Valverde quoted from Football Espana.

Barcelona qualified for the quarterfinals with a 4-1 aggregate win over Chelsea. The Blaugrana became the third Spanish club to ensure a step into the quarter-finals after Real Madrid and Sevilla.

Spain beat Italy and England which each have two representatives in the quarter-finals. While Germany has only one representative quarter-final through Bayern Munich.
