Karolina Pliskova Claims Not to Play Good

Karolina Pliskova's trip to Indian Wells Masters 2018 stalled in the quarter-finals. The fifth seed can not do much when smothered by non-Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka.

Former world number one, Pliskova must admit Osaka's toughness with a late 2-6, 3-6. "I think I think it's a bit off my side, of course," Pliskova said on the WTA official website.

"He played very well, beat from his place - forehand, even with a backhand," continued the Czech Republic tennis player.

When Osaka played very well, on the contrary, Pliskova just had to struggle to find the game. "I struggled throughout the game, even in service, returning the ball," he said.

"I'm definitely not in the best of circumstances, a bit tired, I feel maybe because of waiting (for the previous game on the pitch to finish) I do not know," he continued.

For Pliskova this was the first defeat of her two meetings with Osaka. Last year, Pliskova successfully beat Osaka at the Rogers Cup in Canada.

Meanwhile, after defeating Pliskova, Osaka will fight against the current world number one, Simona Halep.
