Respect for Davide Astori on Fiorentina Victory



Fiorentina finally return to play after last week shocked news of the death of the captain, Davide Astori. In the match against Benevento, the tribute to Astori is done in several steps, including Vitor Hugo's goal celebration.

Astori died in sleep while in preparation for the match against Udinese last week. The incident made Serie A match on Sunday (3/11) eliminated.



After a week of mourning, Fiorentina finally returned to action on the field when entertaining Benevento at Artemio Franchi on Sunday (11/3). The match was again dedicated by Fiorentina and his supporters to pay homage to Davide Astori.

Before the match was held, the players used Fiorentina costume with Astori's 13 back number which will be immortalized by the club during the warm-up session. After that, just before the fight begins also performed a silent procession for Davide Astori.

The Artemio Franchi stadium is crowded by Fiorentina supporters who also carry a number of Astori posters and purple attributes that are typical Fiorentina colors.

As the game entered the 13th minute, the crowd gave a standing ovation for Astori. One of the tribunes featured a mosaic that read 'Davide 13' as a tribute to Astori.

When Vitor Hugo scored a goal for Fiorentina in the 24th minute, Hugo unfurled Davide Astori's T-shirt. Goal Hugo itself so the only goal that created in the game.

The win left Fiorentina ninth with 38 points. Fiorentina are three points from Atalanta in the eighth.
